Beanie sizes
Most adult beanies are one size and fit about 54 to 61 cm (21 ¼ to 24 in). Brands that make two sizes split them at around 58 cm.

Men’s and women’s beanies
Beanies are unisex. A men’s beanie is often cut deeper so it can be worn cuffed or slouchy, while a women’s beanie may be shorter or more fitted. If your head is 60 cm or more, look for L/XL or extra-long beanies.
Making your own beanie
If you knit or crochet, make the beanie smaller than the head so it stretches into place. The knit and crochet charts give finished sizes by age.
Fit tips
- A beanie should cover the tops of your ears and stay put without pressing on your forehead.
- Ribbed beanies stretch the most. Cable and colourwork beanies stretch the least, so size up for those.
