Melin publishes three sizes. Classic is the most common and fits a 7 ⅜ to 7 ⅝ head.

Melin vs New Era and Flexfit

A Melin Small matches about a New Era 7 ⅛ to 7 ⅜, Classic about 7 ⅜ to 7 ⅝ and XL 7 ¾ up to 8 ¼. Compared with Flexfit, Small is close to S/M and Classic is close to L/XL.

Fit tips

  • Melin caps with a snapback or adjustable strap are one size. The size only matters for fitted and stretch styles.
  • If you are between Small and Classic, choose Classic for a relaxed fit.

How to measure your head

  1. 1 Use a soft tape measure, or a string and a ruler.
  2. 2 Wrap it around your head where the hat will sit: about 1 cm (⅜ in) above your ears and across the middle of your forehead.
  3. 3 Keep the tape level and snug, not tight. Do not pull it in.
  4. 4 Read the number where the tape overlaps. Measure two or three times and use the largest value.
  5. 5 Type the number into the calculator, or find it in the chart.

Is a 58 cm head a Melin Small or Classic?

58 cm is near the top of Small. Choose Small for a snug fit or Classic if you prefer it looser.

Do Melin hats run small?

They run true to their chart, which starts larger than many brands: Small begins at 56.5 cm.
