Who we are
HatSizeCharts (hatsizecharts.com, “we”, “us”) is an independent website that publishes hat size charts and calculators. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@hatsizecharts.com.
Information you type into the calculators
The hat size calculators, the crochet and knitting calculator and the head circumference percentile calculator run entirely in your browser. The measurements, ages and other values you enter are not sent to us or stored on our servers, and we cannot see them. If you share a link that contains a measurement (for example a page address ending in ?cm=58), that value is part of the link you chose to share.
Information stored on your device
If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Server and security logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request in order to deliver pages, keep the service secure and block abuse. This data is handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy and is not used by us to identify you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and how the site is used, for example page views, the country you visit from, your device type and how you arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and processes your IP address; the data is reported to us in aggregated form and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can opt out on every website with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), and visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before analytics cookies are set.
Advertising and cookies
To keep the site free, we may show advertising served by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. These cookies may also be used to measure how ads perform and to limit how often you see the same ad.

The site includes size charts for children and babies, which are written for parents and carers. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
